Glossary
Kith and Kin Pro allows you to record the sources of information that you have discovered and whether you consider that information reliable.
Source details are recorded in three parts; (1) the "source", (2) the source document and (3) the document repository.
The source (1) holds the page number and quality of data and is a reference to a source document (2). The source document (2) holds the details of the physical source document; title, author, media, etc and also references a repository (3). The document repository (3) holds details of where documents are kept; name, address, etc.
The list at the top of the data form shows all the source repositories in the database. The currently selected repository is highlighted.
To add a new repository, click on the New repository button, fill in the edit boxes and click on the Accept edit button.
When you make any changes to the data, the data form will become highlighted using the "Dialog editing indicator" colour. This indicates that the data is currently being edited and has not yet been saved to the database. Click on the Accept edit button to save the new data to the database, or the Cancel edit button to cancel any changes made.
To edit the data for an existing repository, first select the repository you want to change in the list at the top of the data form. The current data will appear in the edit boxes above the buttons. Modify the data and click on the Accept edit button.
You can also edit the Address or Notes in the Notes Editor by double-clicking on the appropriate edit box.
Delete a repository by selecting the required repository in the list at the top of the data form and then clicking on the Delete button. Deleting a repository will remove all references to it from source documents.
