Select a database which you want to merge with the current database.
Note that codes (person, family, etc) in the incoming database will not be preserved.
It is possible for field conflicts to arise if user-defined fields have been added to either database. If this happens Kith and Kin Pro will display a list of conflicting fields and give you the option of cancelling the merge operation.
If you continue with a merge operation where there are conflicting fields, Kith and Kin Pro will attempt the merge anyway. Fields in the incoming database which do not have a corresponding field name in the current database will be ignored. Fields which have corresponding field names but are of different types or sizes will be merged but may result in some data loss. For example, if both databases have an "Occupation" field which is 60 characters long in the incoming database but only 40 characters long in the current database, there is the possibility of losing up to 20 characters from the end of the field.
If you want to make sure that conflicting fields have their data correctly merged, cancel the merge operation and modify the user-defined fields for the current database.
After merging databases, it is possible that some records may have been duplicated. You can search and fix these records using the Remove duplicates function.
If the incoming database was created with option settings which do not match your current settings, you may wish to update person, family or date descriptions after merging the databases.
